I'm not sure if I'm good enough in free drawing. My best sketches are from copying a picture in front of me (except for my robot character).
I'm not sure if I need a tablet to be good, or I need to be good to get a tablet... Most likely a Wacom Bamboo.
I also have the option of waiting for the frikkin awesome Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, which is an Android tablet that is also a drawing tablet! Pressure-sensitive pen & everything! Should I?

Eh. Nobody reads this anyway...

Digital with a tablet is a completely different medium. That being said, it doesn't matter how well you think do in other mediums. If it's an art form you want to learn, I say learn it!
There is no right-of-passenge to get a tablet. No one's gunna shame you for wanting to learn a new style.

Now for the type,
Wacom Bamboos are nice but I'm not a fan. To smooth and small for my taste. I like a bit of weight to mine as it helps me keep the surface  level. Personal preference though.
Galaxy tablet is more verisitile  as  it's also a travel tablet, so you get that nice little perk.

Personally, I'd stick to Wacom. Very reliable, and derable (at least for me, I've never had a problem with em)
